Today, many states and counties do not allow the public to access and view government files online. They have implemented laws that prevent a person from doing investigative checks on court documents, court dockets, court proceedings and court cases from online websites and databases. Online access to such government records is restricted. The best way to gain access to them and to acquire them is through direct sources.
Most county and district courts hold the court records and court documents of each county. There are actually two main district courts in Swisher County. One of these is the Swisher County 242nd District Court, located at 119 South Maxwell, Tulia, TX 79088. You can contact their office by calling their phone number, (806) 995-3294. They can also be faxed at (806) 995-4121. This county court has its own website, http://www.co.swisher.tx.us/default.aspx?Swisher_County/District.Clerk.
The second district and county court is the Swisher County 64th District Court which is found at the same address as the 242nd District Court. These two district courts are open from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. every Monday through Thursday, and from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Fridays.
Like every other county, Swisher County has a county clerk who is responsible for keeping and giving out court records and information, such as court proceedings and court cases.
Another alternative to the district and county court is the county library. The Swisher County Library is located at 127 SW Second, Tulia, TX 79088. You can also visit their website, https://offender.tdcj.texas.gov/OffenderSearch/index.jsp.
